Engineering and Computing Student Council

The Engineering and Computing Student Council is the student representation to the CEC faculty. Our student council is open to all majors in the CEC and is always looking to add members! Our primary goal is to engage the faculty and student body in all endeavors. Each semester, we host several professional and social events focused on uniting the college. These include resume workshops and paper airplane contests during Engineers Week. Each fall, the ECSC plans the CEC Welcome Picnic, where all CEC students can meet other students, as well as faculty members. Each engineering organization is also present, so students get to find opportunities to get involved in the college. During the 2014-2015 academic year, the ECSC had the opportunity to contribute to the Miami 2020 Plan as the voice of all CEC students. Our main focus was on CEC retention, international studies, and experiential learning opportunities. Towards the end of the spring semester the ECSC hosts the Senior Design Expo, where each senior capstone team displays their capstone project to students, faculty, alumni, and industry representatives. The ECSC personally handles all registration and set up, food donations, and contributes to contacting alumni and industry members.
