With faculty and graduate students from the Miami writing community

Join us on four Fridays after HCWE open Writing Hours to talk with colleagues about strategies for writing, especially in times of stress or crisis. Guests will talk about how they have been getting various kinds of writing done, what’s been helpful and hard for them during COVID, and what some implications are for their teaching. Attendees will learn about colleagues’ lived experiences with writing and reflect on their own writing and teaching of writing. Bring your own lunch so that we can have “virtual lunch” together. You are welcome to attend one or all four of these sessions. All sessions will take place on Zoom, 12:00PM—1:20PM.

Feb. 19:  Finishing a book-length project during COVID with Annie Dell'Aria (Art History) and Anita Mannur (English)

March 5:  Writing and researching in a lab during COVID with Jay Smart (Psychology)

April 2:  Collaborative writing during COVID with Gaile PohlhausKeith Fennen, and Elaine Miller (Philosophy)

April 23:  Dissertating during COVID with Jennifer Edwards (EDL), Justin Chandler (English), Carrie Ann Sharritt (Biology)

Each session is capped at 20 attendees. We want to ensure maximum participation opportunities in a synchronous online environment. If you are not among the first 20 people to register for a session, we'll let you know and place you on a waiting list.
