McGuffey House and Museum Spring Programs, 2022
Danielle Foulk, Citizen Historian, Reily Township, Butler County

The featured speaker of McGuffey House and Museum's monthly program will be Danielle Foulk, who will present: “The Craven Connection – Thomas Craven and His Connections Across State Lines.” The presentation will highlight the life of Miami University graduate Rev. Thomas Craven, including his early association with The Eleutherian College, founded in 1848 and located in Madison, Indiana. Ms. Foulk will explore Thomas Craven’s settlement in Oxford, Ohio, his time as a traveling minister for the areas Baptist Churches, and his connection to the Wehr family in Reily Township. She will also discuss his affiliation with the Anti-Slavery Movement, and his connections to well-known Underground Railroad associates such as Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Foulk, a Reily Township resident and local historian, is owner of the historic Wehr Homestead on Springfield Road.
