In this talk, Professor Conn will discuss the use of objects as historical sources, how he introduced students to Miami's collections, and how this book project came together. Along the way, we will visit with a few of the remarkable objects his students found and the stories they tell.

Steven Conn joined Miami's history department in 2015 as the W.E. Smith Professor. He specializes in American urban and intellectual history.
