 d the $10\,000 William and Dorothy Yeck Award and the sculpture will becom
 e part of Miami University’s permanent collection. The Year 2025 competi
 tion is for Representational Realism Sculpture. \n\nThe 2025 Young Sculpto
 rs Competition is a national competition that features the works of 8 U.S.
  artists 25-35 years of age. Sohrab Mohebbi\, Director of the Sculpture Ce
 nter\, New York is the juror for this years competition. The award ceremon
 y will be held in Hiestand Galleries\, Friday\, September 26\, from 4:30 -
  5:30 p.m.\, Award announcement\, 5:00 p.m.\n\n______\n\nAida Lizalde ~ Ma
 r dormido\n\nAida Lizalde is the 2023 awardee of the 2023\, $10\,000 Yeck 
 Purchase Award. In this recent exhibition\, Mar dormido\, the artist consi
 ders the subtle registers of transformation that unfold over geological ti
 me and observes the rhythms of erosion\, burial\, and celestial drift\, po
 sitioning materials as quiet record-keepers of cycles that often transcend
  human perception. The series of works included a range of ceramic vessels
 \, sculptural forms\, textiles\, and found objects. They are a collaborati
 on with materials and natural phenomena alike\, acknowledging their capaci
 ty to record\, respond\, and transform under the forces of time\, sediment
 \, decomposition\, weathering\, pressure\, and heat. The exhibition asks h
 ow objects metabolize time\, not through spectacle\, but through the quiet
