Transforming long-term care: Impact through policy, research, clinical care and entrepreneurship
Dr. Kathleen Unroe will share an overview of challenges in nursing home care and her work in multiple domains to improve quality of care and quality of life for older adults with long term care needs. She will describe the OPTIMISTIC demonstration project, an 8 year $30.3 million CMS clinical and payment demonstration project, as well as clinical trials she is conducting in nursing homes. Dr. Unroe will share her experience in finding opportunities for innovation through academia and through strategic business collaborations.
