Screening of "The Mountain Minor"

A FREE FILM SCREENING PRESENTED BY APPALACHIAN STUDIES

A powerful and artful film that illuminates the real and heartfelt human stories that have shaped the ballad, old time music and bluegrass traditions still cherished today. This film will be extremely poignant for Appalachian migrants and folks who have Appalachian ancestry; young musicians and music enthusiasts can gain new perspectives on the old time and bluegrass music genres. It will enrich the experience for musicians and fans who are new to the tradition, and it will be equally meaningful for folks who are steeped in Appalachian music.

Live music will start at 6 pm and the film screening will start at 6:30 pm. Free public event. No tickets or RSVP required.
