About this Event
With Elizabeth Wardle, Mandy Olejnik, and Will Chesher
In this 2-part workshop series, we will discuss matters of plagiarism and citation through discussions of how to teach students how to critically read in your field and understand the expectations held of them as academic writers. Please plan to attend both sessions.
Part 1 will review the importance of situating citation as scholarly conversation and discuss how students learn to cite and where common struggles are.
Then, Part 2 will invite participants to brainstorm together activities and assignments that can help students better learn not only how but why to cite.
When: Part 1: Tuesday, Oct. 5 or Wednesday, Oct. 6, 11:40AM–1:00PM; Part 2: Tuesday, Nov. 16 or Wednesday, Nov. 17, 11:40AM–1:00PM
Where: King Library Room 133 (The HCWE) and Zoom
In-person attendance is limited to 10 people, first come first served. All others are welcome to join virutally via Zoom. Designate your choice for attending when you sign up.
