About this Event
Join our interdisciplinary panel in an interactive session to discuss best practices for facilitating learning in office hours while delivering remote and online instruction.
Courtney Chatha, doctoral student in Chemistry, investigates students' idea about representations in chemistry, has adapted her research to operate remotely, and has uncovered different ways to engage students over a screen. Debbie Coleman, assistant clinical lecturer & chief departmental advisor in Marketing, loves to learn and therefore teaches employing work experience from Disney, Kraft, and Northrop Grumman to a daily blend of magic, cheesiness, and mission focus. Scott Sander, associate clinical professor in Teacher Education, teaches large lecture courses and looks to challenge traditional notions of science teaching and learning as he positions students as scientists/scholars who critically analyze both physical and social phenomena. Todd Stuart, an assistant teaching professor and the director of Art Management & Entrepreneurship in the College of Creative Arts, obstinately has helped his students in this new remote challenge and looks forward to applying his learning to both remote and face-to-face classes in the future.
