Jaynie Royal founded Regal House Publishing in 2014 and has since guided its growth over the past twelve years to include the imprints Fitzroy Books, Pact Press, and House of Kel, as well as its nonprofit arm, Regal House Initiative. Named Independent Publisher of the Year in 2021 by Foreword Reviews, Regal House publishing has over 400 titles in its backlist and publishes 46 new titles a year. His most recent book of poems is American Sad (Main Street Rag) and the forthcoming Dueling Shovels (Final Thursday).
