On Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, the Miami University Percussion Ensemble will present its fall concert, entitled “New Music for Percussion”.
Three new pieces written expressly for this concert will be performed. The first new work is entitled “Bricks”, composed by MU junior composition major Will Dixon. Following this will be “!Golazo!” for percussion ensemble and fixed media, composed by sophomore composition major Oscar Avila. Later in the program, a new percussion quartet by Adam Mamula, entitled “What’s the Clatter” will be premiered.
Additionally, an original composition by Michael LaMattina, “Microfugue #4” will round out the new music offerings at this concert. Other selections will include music by Nine Inch Nails, Jonny Greenwood, Alexandre Desplat, and Barry Adamson, arranged by MU composition alum Harold Li and Mr. LaMattina.
The concert will take place at Hall Auditorium in Oxford, the downbeat will be 7:30pm. Admission is free.
