Presenters: Nicole LaPlena, third-year graduate student in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program; and Tarah Trueblood, Director of the Center for American and World Cultures

Regardless of class size and academic discipline, microaggressions are prevalent in Miami classrooms, and faculty members are often unprepared to identity, much less address, them. Microaggressions create a culture of exclusion and serve to sabotage the learning process for everyone. This workshop will help you develop a basic understanding of microaggressions and simple strategies to interrupt them. The workshop assumes a basic understanding of concepts from the two prior workshops in this series.
