Free Event

Moving out? Donate your unused or unwanted items even though ShareFest is canceled due to the coronavirus.

Please be sustainable Do not throw still-useful items in the trash!

1. Food, cleaning supplies and personal care items

Donate unopened, unexpired, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and personal care supplies to:

Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services

  • 400 West Withrow Street near the Catholic Cemetery (on the way to WalMart).   Call TOPSS at 513-523-3851 to learn how and when to safely drop off your donations.

2. Furniture, clothing, household items

You have three possible options to give away still useful furniture, clothing and household items:

  • Goodwill of Oxford  - Call them at 513-273-2053 to learn how and when you can safely drop off your items.
  • Neighborhood Share Facebook Group is a great way to offer your still-useful items to local residents who will come pick them up.  Ask to join the group and then you are set to post whatever item you are looking to find a new home for.  Items with photos work best.
  • Some landlords might accept items to pass on or sell to future residents.  Inquire with your landlord about this option.

Do not just leave items in your house/apartment because you are likely to be charged for their removal.

3. Bicycles

  • If you cannot fit your bicycle and you are returning to Oxford next semester, Miami University Police Department has an inexpensive bike storage option for the summer.  Go to the MUPD webpage to get the details.

4. Trash

  • Whatever you must throw away, please do so in a responsible way.
  • Make sure trash is not loose (or it will blow all over the place and make a huge mess).
  • Avoid creating huge piles that are difficult for Rumpke to haul away.
  • Do not block dumpsters so they can be emptied.
