We are excited to share that Miami University Dance Marathon (MUDM) is bringing back our annual event, “Dance Marathon,” to campus IN PERSON, for the first time since 2020. Dance Marathon was originally established in 1991, at Indiana University by student Jill Steward-Waibel after the loss of her friend Ryan White. Over the past 30 years, this nationwide philanthropy movement has grown exponentially raising millions of dollars annually for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals(CMNH) around the country. Our mission as members of Miami University Dance Marathon is to raise awareness and funds for the life-saving treatments and cutting-edge care offered by our local CMNHospital, Cincinnati Children's. Everyday, CMN Hospitals treat 1,620 children with trauma, 935 children with diabetes, 2,128 children with cancer, 2,329 children in need of surgery, and 925 babies in the NICU. For every $1 raised, 18% provides charitable care, 15% goes to life-saving treatment, 12% supports critical medical research, and 55% goes to education, patient services, as well as advanced services. Dance Marathons across the country join together to raise pivotal funds for the life-saving treatment, cutting-edge care, and urgent research provided by CMN hospitals nationwide. Our Dance Marathon will be filled with various games, fundraising opportunities, performances, as well as visits from miracle families and children from Cincy Children’s. We would love for you to join us this year at our event! Attending the event is a great way for you to bond with friends all while raising money for a good cause.
