Though flashcards and practice problems can help students retain fundamental knowledge needed for a course, more effective learning strategies should be employed to help them connect, synthesize, and master course content. Faculty will learn strategies (e.g., matrices, sequencing, self-testing) to incorporate into class meetings and out-of-class assignments that enhance students' understanding, recall, and application of critical course concepts and theories.
