Ken Jennings became a Jeopardy! legend when he defeated fellow champ James Holzhauer to be named the Greatest Jeopardy! Player of All Time in 2020. The victory topped his previous achievements as the winningest game show contestant of all time and the holder of the longest Jeopardy! winning streak (74 consecutive games), highest regular-season winnings ($2,520,700) and highest average correct responses per match (35.9) in Jeopardy! history. Jennings also represented the human race in a 2011 Jeopardy! match against IBM’s Watson supercomputer.

The former software engineer turned best-selling author paid homage to the game show that he has loved and watched since childhood. "It is a real honor to be associated with a show that nobody ever has a bad thing to say about — It encourages learning, it makes smart kids feel like it’s ok to be smart and that’s the kind of kid I was,” he said. As the first guest host after Alex Trebeck’s death he said, “That’s a wrap on my six weeks of Jeopardy! guest hosting. Thanks for watching, thanks for your patience with a tough learning curve…and as always, thank you Alex.” Jennings continues on the show as a consulting producer.
