Preparing for Graduate School Admissions Tests - October 21st, 6:00-7:30pm, Pearson Hall 128 Join us as upperclassmen students discuss their differing approaches to admissions tests for healthcare programs, including the MCAT, OAT, DAT, GRE, Casper, Kira, and PREview.
Career Center Workshop - How to Approach a Gap Year - October 22nd, 3:00-5:30pm, Shriver Center - Heritage Room The MWC has partnered with the Center for Career Exploration and Success to offer a resume workshop, networking, and a panel of students who made the decision to take a gap year. The resume workshop can be good for any student, and will take place from 3:00-4:00pm, and the panel will be beneficial to anyone considering taking time off between undergrad and pursuing a degree in healthcare, and will take place from 4:30-5:30pm. Notice that there’s a 30 minute window without anything scheduled? That’s when there will be food and the opportunity to network with our panelists, so don’t miss out!
Admissions Panel - October 22nd, 6:00-8:00pm, Via Zoom (Click to access Zoom) Hear representatives from a variety of professional healthcare programs, including medical, dental, PA and PT, Pharmacy, and veterinary medicine discuss what they are looking for in applicants, and share advice based on their experiences over the years!
Getting Involved as a Pre-Health Student - October 23rd, 5:00-6:30pm, Psychology Building 125 This panel will consist of students who will present and answer questions about becoming involved in research, shadowing, volunteering, and the community. The panel will be focused on providing advice for students early in their pre-health pathway.
Clinical Health Sciences Building Tours - October 24th, 10:00-11:00am, 1:00-2:00pm, 3:30-4:30pm (Click to register) The Mallory-Wilson Center is partnering with the Physician Associate's program to provide tours of the Clinical Health Sciences Building, including the cadaver lab! This is a great way for all pre-health students to get a feel for what labs will be like in healthcare professional programs, and is also a way for pre-PA students to become familiar with Miami's program! There are three slots available, but space is limited, so don’t wait to register!

“Speed Dating” Networking Event - October 25th, 3:00-5:00pm, Pearson Hall Atrium (Click to register) Join the Mallory-Wilson Center in our first-ever “Speed Dating” Networking Event. During this event students will have the opportunity to rotate between tables featuring Miami alumni healthcare providers, as well as faculty, so that they can hear about their career journeys, ask questions, and build mentorships that could last a lifetime! NEW DATE- Stop the Bleed - October 29th, 6:00-9:00pm, Shriver Center - JDOL (Registration link to come) The American College of Surgeons (ACS) STOP THE BLEED® program is administered by the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT). The ACS COT, formed in 1922, has put forth a continuous effort to improve care of injured patients in our society. Today trauma activities are administered through an 86-member committee overseeing a field force of more than 3,500 Fellows who are working to develop and implement meaningful programs for trauma care in local, regional, national, and international arenas. With programs such as its STOP THE BLEED® Course, the COT strives to improve the care of injured patients before, during, and after hospitalization.
