Miami University Lecture Series hosts bestselling author Gregory Maguire, "No Rest for the Wicked".

Maguire is the author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the 1995 work that inspired the hit Broadway musical, Wicked, along with three other novels in The Wicked Years series, all of which are New York Times bestsellers.

Maguire has also written the national bestsellers Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Lost, Mirror Mirror, The Next Queen of Heaven, After Alice, and Hiddensee. The combined book sales of these ten volumes have exceeded ten million copies.  His most recent novel is A Wild Winter Swan (2020).

He has also written twenty- some children’s novels, including: What-The-Dickens (a New York Times Bestseller 2007), The Hamlet Chronicles, a seven-book series, Missing Sisters, and Egg & Spoon (a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Award). Egg & Spoon is in development by Universal Studios as a live-action movie musical with a score by Jeanine Tesori. Though best known as a fantasy writer, Maguire has also written picture books, science fiction, realistic and historic fiction.
