DANIEL LEVY: FOR ARTISTS IN THE WORKING WORLD
You are an artist, living the artist's life. But you also want to make a difference in the world as a teaching artist: dance, theater, visual arts, poetry, and music professionals who also sometimes teach. TAs bring the arts to students of all ages in schools, correctional facilities, and community centers. The field is growing, providing many artists with substantial part-time income for socially just work. Is Teaching Artist the right job for you? In this workshop, master teaching artist Daniel Levy (MU 1984) introduces TA practice from altruistic as well as practical perspectives, with your success and career sustainability in mind. A playful mix of reflective prompts, video, worksheets and discussion give you a veteran’s-eye-view of what this work is all about. All artists in all art forms are welcome.
