Free opportunities for area elementary-aged students and residents of local communities to enjoy live performances.

Miami University Percussion Ensemble

Directed by Michael LaMattina, the Ensemble will make its first appearance at Fantastic Free Fridays.

The program will feature works from the ensemble’s fall concert earlier in the week in Oxford. Selections will include newly written music for the percussion ensemble, “Le Marche Diabolique” (a trio composed by LaMattina), quartets and quintets for percussion, traditional drum music from the rudimental canon, as well as music that shares insights about the role of percussion in the orchestra. The repertoire will appeal to a range of tastes and ages.
