About this Event
Presenters: Stephanie Danker, Art and Megan Young, Scripps Gerontology Center.
Empathy and emotion can be powerful ways to connect classroom content with “real world” applications. When students engage directly with people through hands-on learning, their ability to empathize with others grows. In this interactive workshop, presenters will share research and activities focused around incorporating emotion, reflection and storytelling for students to build relationships and work with populations that are often overlooked. Attendees will gain strategies for using empathy to connect classroom learning with outside-the-classroom engagement and experiences.
