Nobel Peace Prize recipient and widely respected Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov is embarking on a special U.S. speaking tour this September and October and one of the stops on his tour is Miami University, through the invitation of the Havighurst Center for Russian & Post-Soviet Studies.
As editor-in-chief of the newspaper Novaya Gazeta, one of Russia's last remaining independent news outlets which was forced to halt operations in March 2022, Muratov is a vocal advocate for an independent press and is known for investigating abuses of power.
The event is being co-sponsored with The Menard Family Center for Democracy, The Department of Media, Journalism, and Film and the Diana Stark Speaker Series in Journalism
This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available through the Miami University Box Office
