Celebrate the birthday of our Constitution with this raw, funny and thought-provoking play by Heidi Schreck that dives into how America’s founding document still shapes real lives. 

The play, which premiered on Broadway on March 31, 2019, addresses themes such as women's rights, immigration, domestic abuse, and the history of the United States. 

"What the Constitution Means to Me" has received accolades such as a nomination for Best Play in the 73rd Tony Awards and a finalist spot for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Presented by the Department of Theatre in partnership with the Menard Family Center for Democracy.
