Miami University Dance Theatre Spring Concerts May 3 at 7:30 p.m. and May 4 at 2 p.m..
There will be a Talk Back after the May 3 performance.
Dance Theatre’s eclectic style continues to include elements of many dance forms—from modern to contemporary to jazz. The concert features music that ranges from contemporary such as Bon Iver to Yann Tiersen and Hermanos Gutiérrez.
Dances include:
Guest choreographer Vivian Sessions '23, currently from Los Angeles, choreographed "se séparer" inspired by periods of transition, moving from one chapter of life to another.
Rose Kurutz, a senio Strategic Communication and Arts Management and theatre arts majors.chorepgraphed "Exhale", featuring the music of DEVO, Air, and Rufus Wainwright,
Annabella Papson, a senior Arts Management and Entrepreneurship major with a minor in dance, choreographed "For Us,"
MiaBella Stockle, a senior Primary Education major, choregraphed "Bloom."
Kylie Gunning, a senior Social Work major and president of Dance Theatre, choreographed "The Weight of Waiting.,"
Liv Warner, a junior Arts Management and Strategic Communication double major and Dance Theatre’s Vice-President, choreographed a poece using Françoise Hardy’s 'Le temps de l’amour' and 'Je suis d’accord,' alongside Molly Lewis’s 'Crushed Velvet.'
Tickets are free for Miami students with their student ID at the Wilks Theater box office before the concert, $10 students/seniors: $12 in advance general admission and $15 at the door.
