Dance Theatre’s eclectic style continues to include elements of many dance forms—from modern to contemporary to jazz. 

The concert features music that ranges from contemporary such as Ariana Grande to Pink Floyd, with dances choreographed by 2 guest artists and 4 students. 

TICKETS: 

Free for Miami students with their student ID at the Wilks Theater box office before the concert,

$10 students/seniors: $12 in advance general admission and $15 at the door. Box Office/Home Office

There is a TalkBack after the Saturday concert, providing an opportunity to meet the choreographers and dancers and ask questions.

 Guest artist Anthony Alterio, Assistant Professor of Instruction in Dance and Musical Theater at Ohio University, created "No, Perhaps...?" specifically for Dance Theatre, It is "the antithesis to mainstream pop culture and mass media tropes."

Guest choreographer Alison Page, '22, from Chicago, IL, created "11:17" set to music by George Fitzgerald, Perfume Genius, James Blake, and Lord Huron and uses a contemporary movement vocabulary. 

Rose Kurutz, a junior from Des Plaines, IL, Strategic Communications, Arts Management, and Theatre Arts major, choreographed "Collapse" which musically features Lord Rahburn’s Disco Connection, Air’s DeColláge, and Pink Floyd’s Eclipse

Sophia Stavropoulos, a sophomore Secondary Science Education major from Chicago, choreographed "Mary Magdalene," which pulls from her background in the hip hop and contemporary genres. 

Liv Warner, a sophomore Arts Management and Strategic Communication major from Marysville, Ohio, choreographed "Anchored in the Space Between" using Lord Huron & Ben Schneider’s Deadbeats Jam Tape Spring '95 and Deadbeats Jam Tape Winter ‘94 alongside Emile Mosseri’s Big Country

Cary Wolff, a sophomore Emerging Technology in Business + Design major and minor in Digital Marketing from Lakewood, Ohio, choreographed "Dandelion Cottage," using Patrick Watson’s music Adventures in Your Own Backyard.
