About this Event
Notwithstanding our reputation as the land of opportunity and promise, the United States also has a long history of racialized violence against various groups of people who have been demonized and scapegoated as the dangerous Other. Unfortunately, this ugly history continues to haunt the present moment. The recent murders of Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, Yong Ae Yue, Delaina Ashley Yaun, Paul Andre Michels, Xiaojie Tan, and Daoyou Feng in Atlanta, Georgia have called attention to the significant and aggressive surge in violence against the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities. Join us on April 7th as Dr. Denise Taliaferro Baszile hosts a conversation with Dr. Katherine S. Cho and EDL doctoral student, Hannah Stohry.
