This CTE seminar will report the approaches taken by a Miami Faculty Learning Community (AY 21-22) to (1) discuss the nature and implementation of course evaluations in higher education and (2) review recently modified approaches to evaluating teaching effectiveness at a range of institutional types. The results of a Miami institutional survey (Spring 2022) that aimed to evaluate the use of student evaluations of teaching within the context of instructional response and teaching improvements will be presented.
