Dance Theatre’s eclectic style continues to include elements of many dance forms—from modern to contemporary to jazz.  The concert features music that ranges from contemporary such as Fleetwood Mac and Regina Spektor to the classical sound of Vivaldi.

There is a TalkBack after the Saturday concert, providing an opportunity to meet the choreographers and dancers and ask questions.

Tickets: free for Miami students with their student ID at the Wilks Theater box office before the concert, $10 students/seniors: $12 in advance general admission and $15 at the door. Online at MiamiOH.edu/boxoffice 

The program includes: 

  • “What is Round Goes Round…”  choreographed by Dance Theatre Company director Lana Kay Rosenberg, with music by Antonio Vivaldi. 
  • Guest choreographer Mary Grace Geise, dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Cleveland, choreographed “Let Us Rember” 
  • Guest choreographer Anthony Alterio, assistant professor of Instruction in Dance and Musical Theatre at Ohio University, choreographed “The Ones Who Lived…” drawing its inspiration from the rebellious spirit of 1980s–90s rock ‘n’ roll and the raw power of subculture.
  • Sophia Stavropoulos, a senior Secondary Science Education major and Dance Theatre treasurer, choreographed "Collective⁷ ” using the music Looped by the electronic duo Kiasmos.
  • Liv Warner, a senior Arts Management and Strategic Communication double major, choreogtraphes "In Translation" with music from Fleetwood Mac.  
  • Cary Wolff, senior ETB+D major and Vice President of Dance Theatre, and  Chloe Dickson, a senior Strategic Communication and Fashion Business major and Dance Theatre's Events and Activities chair, collaborated on the choreography for “Where We Bloom” set to music by Regina Spektor.
  • Sophia Sapp, sophomore majoring in Biology and Nutrition with a co-major in Premedical and Pre-Health Studies and a minor in Spanish, and secretary of the company, choreographed "Harold" with music by The Boston Typewriter Orchestra and Simon Leoza.
  • Izzy Wolfe, a sophomore Architecture and Spanish double major, choreographed “In Reflection Of,” set to the music "Infinity Pool" by Tim Hecker and Nina Simone’s "Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair".
