Have you ever seen a speaker read from slides to the audience? Worse yet, have you done it? Are you annoyed by a nervous habit of a presenter, like saying “um” or not making eye contact? Have you passed on the opportunity to “raise a toast” because you thought yourself boring? Do you freeze when asked to introduce a person to others? Have you declined a leadership position at your work or in a school, sports or social setting because you are too self-conscious when in front of a group?

Bring your fears, worries, and nervous habits to the upcoming Communication as Art workshop series! Adolfo Olivas, local magistrate and Miami Hamilton professor, will lead you through the maze of public speaking skills, and you’ll have an enjoyable time learning.

The specifics:
- Open to anyone in the community who wants to improve their public speaking ability
- 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Wednesdays, January 18, 25, and February 1 (3 sessions)
No charge, but please RSVP to vaughnjh@miamioh.edu so we know how many folks to expect.
