Step into the personal world of the Civil War through the remarkable letters of Dr. Abraham Landis of Millville, Ohio. In this engaging presentation, Brian Smith, Executive Director of the Butler County Historical Society will explore the wartime correspondence of Dr. Landis, assistant surgeon with the 35th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, whose letters vividly describe military life, battlefield medicine, and the hardships and hopes of soldiers serving far from home. Through these firsthand accounts, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of Butler County's "Butler Boys" and the enduring legacy of one of the community's most distinguished Civil War physicians.
