The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Writing Presents Fall Conversations 2022
Learn about opportunities in publishing and library science during a panel discussion with the following Miami alumni:
Vanessa Thompson (Miami alumni 2016, Psychology and Biomedical Science), a quality engineer at Cleveland Cliffs, will join us to talk about her journey in self-publishing her book Family Interview. She will walk us through the self-publishing process and detail some frequently asked questions about the marketplace.
Hannah Kuhn (Miami alumni 2020, English and Creative Writing), a public service assistant at the Fairfield Lane Library, will join us to discuss her journey to Kent State University, where she is pursuing her MLIS with a focus on Archival Studies. She will talk about applying to graduate school and answer some frequently asked questions about the process of becoming a professional librarian.
Brea McQueen (Miami alumni 2015, English Literature and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; MLIS 2017, Kent State University), a Student Success Librarian, will join us to talk about her varied work serving young adult populations in public and university settings including her current role here at Miami University’s Rentschler Library.
