Calling all faculty and staff Redhawks!  This fall, let’s move more.  Let’s step it up.  Let’s beat Youngstown State U!

Announcing the first ever competitive steps challenge. Team up for the campus versus campus, Redhawks versus Penguins, Miami University versus Youngstown State University.  The campus with the most steps in the challenge will be the winner of this cross-state challenge.  It is our goal to reach an average of 16 million steps in 4 weeks. 

Feeling motivated and want to join in on the action of a friendly cross-state competition?  Sign up using your Healthy Miami account!  Registration is open now through 9/15.  The challenge begins on Monday 9/9 and will run for 4 weeks ending on 10/7.

Tracking your Steps

It’s easy to track your steps for the challenge.  You can sync your smart device to the Healthy Miami portal and it will track it all for you.  Instructions for syncing devices is in the welcome email once you join the challenge.  Or you can add in your daily steps each day by selecting “log my steps” under the challenge box once it has started.  Every step counts! 

New this Year!

All full-time faculty and staff now have access to the Healthy Miami website, even if you have declined health insurance coverage at Miami.  This still allows you to sign up for any wellness challenges (like Battle of the Birds), utilize many online features available such as health, exercise, and food logs, participate in wellness workshops like diabetes prevention, etc., create a health mission, and more!  Simply click on the link above, select “register new account,” and get started.  Once you have created your account, select “sign up” under the challenges box at the top and follow the prompts.

Weekly Prize Drawings

At the end of each week, there will be a chance to win awesome prizes.  Once the steps have been updated every Monday morning, we will announce prize winners via email.  

We need at least 150 participants to step up with us.  So be sure to grab your colleagues and sign up for the Battle of the Birds challenge today!  Help us reach 16 million steps and beat Youngstown State U.  Go Redhawks!
