Gerke, teaching professor in Geology at Miami University, will discuss her contributions to archaeological work in the ancient Greek colony of Apollonia (near Pojan, Albania), which is detailed in the recent publication, “A Sanctuary in the Hora of Illyrian Apollonia: Excavations at the Bonjaknt Site 2004-2006.” The joint effort of teams from the International Centre for Albanian Archaeology and the University of Cincinnati led to the discovery of a previously unknown temple.
